Everything went right that day.

This was the third time Dan and I had done the "Sessions" ride. It's one of our favorites, even though it involves a lot of steep climbing with numerous hike-a-bikes. But the ride just has the things that make mountain biking great for me.

We've never seen another rider on the middle section which, besides being breathtakingly beautiful, also has some great riding. Sure you have to get off and push your bike up steep hills, but that just makes those steep technical descents more fun right?

But besides being a great ride, on this adventure we had Evan and Eric with us who had never ridden it before. It's always fun to make your friends suffer with you, especially if they smile though it all. With this group there was also no question of a shuttle. It would be the whole thing from the house -- and a nice round number - 50 miles..
